Such a good day I decided to blog about it!

So, Today was your usual 105'+ sunny day! I was able to sleep a total of 13 hours last night and woke up feeling like a new woman. I wasn't feeling very well the past two days and I think a lot of it was just needing a good nights rest. After that long sweet glorious sleep I was able to start the day not feeling like a cranky pants!

What also made this day to fantastic is that everything is organized at the Compassion Kit Warehouse which has conveniently relocated itself (Technically we did the relocating!) to the Caubbles Crib! On Monday we caravanned  in a Honda Accord, Toyota Yaris, Darango, and Expedition and were able to transport all the full shippers to the Caubbles. Today, was all about organizing and what do ya know...we did it! Not to mention I found 33 phone cards and the folks who donated and filled compassion kits did a great job at filling them with all the basic items and then some! I appreciate it, FAMM appreciates it, and those who will receive the "LOVING GIFT WITH A COMPELLING MESSAGE" are thankful for it and will be changed for a lifetime through the Loving Message!

Caught in a Perfect Moment.

After visiting a my friend at the park I went to Umm Suqueim beach for some time with my Heavenly Father. While sitting on my little beach towel, breathing in the salty air and being captivated by the crashing waves, I found my self in a perfect moment. When my heart feel full and I am satisfied. 

I am blessed during this season of my life to have so much free time not distracted  by school, work, and other everyday responsibilities I had back in the States. There is a whole other level of daily responsibility here that I will absolutely bring back home with me. "Now that I have seen I am responsible Faith without deeds is dead...And I am on a plane Across a distant sea But I carry you in me In the dust on...My feet. I will tell the world where I've been." - Brooke Fraser, Albertine. Now, this song is about Rawanda but I feel this quote is fitting for me right now. In another blog on another day I will dive into this "responsibility" business a little deep. Until then......

While I am reminded of man made restriction such as schedules I am also reminded and greatly comforted that God is not restricted by a schedule. If I want to go to the beach, sit at a coffee shop, or lay in my bed God is there ready to meet with me. Ready to spend time with me. When my heart is full or when I am anxious God is always ready to listen. And today I chose the beach to observe my Fathers good work.

So Little Words

I have moved from being intimidated and self-conscience of the fact that there is a language barrier between the ladies I am building relationships with to that being something I love about being here.

 A week or so ago while visiting with two beautiful ladies we laughed more than we talked. You see, the three of us are from three very different countries with three very different languages. This particular day between the, "What's" and the "huh's" we all looked at each other in realization of the obvious and began to laugh. We laughed for the better part of our hour long "conversation". When I would have to repeat, with my southern accent, what i said for the 3rd time and still receive a blank star in return we would just start laughing. It wasn't nervous laughter. It was laughter between three friends. It was great!

I prayed and asked my Father for wisdom and ears to understand the language barrier and He gives me laughter. I just love Him.

Never Boring, Always Changing!

     It was another beautiful day in the UAE! The newness of everything still hasn't worn off. I am used to living here now, however, there are so many different cultures that you encounter on a daily bases that everyday is seriously a new day! Never boring, always changing.
     I love that it's sunshine 98% of the time! I am "solar powered" as my beautiful mother would say. However, Sunscreen is a close and dear companion of mine. My Ethiopian friend asked me today why do white people, Americans really, like sun so much? I laughed and began to explain that American's like to be tan. Then I explained tanning beds. She agreed that was a dumb idea! Later in the conversation she asked about freckles. I happen to be an expert on this...tanning I am not!
     On another note...Police drive BMW's as their cop car! Yep. Only in Dubai. They don't typically pull people over. There are radar cameras set up along most main roads that snap a picture of speeders and then send a text message to their cell phones telling them to come to the police station they have been given a ticket. I don't think I have gotten any tickets...yet. ( ;

A fun week with the Germany Ladies team!

I have a perfectly reasonable excuse as to why it has been a few days since I have posted pictures! Honest! My camera memory card and PC were having some relational issues. HP's tend to be... how can I say this delicately...moody. That’s the word! If it doesn't want to load, print, or play something it is just not going to do it. So, the trick it I let it take a nap. Now, my lovely PC is feeling much better. ( :

There is not as many pic's as I would have liked to post. That one was an operator error! haha

This week was amazing!!!

Fun & Relaxing day! Lana Packard is a new friend I met in Germany in November. She led the Germany Ladies team this past week. I got the awesome opportunity to spend some time with her! She is a great new mentor!

2 weeks already!

Has it really been 2 weeks?!? Wow! It has certainly flown by…as I knew it would. I am attending a church called fellowship of the Emirates and have met some really great people. This coming Wednesday I get to meet up with some folks around my age(I have to get my Texas words in where I can!) for dinner. I am VERY excited to have made some new friends….I hope they like me! ( ;



God is good to provided EVERYTHING we need right when we need it! I have been shopping around for a used gas oven, microwave, and Refrigerator for the past two weeks and finally found them all in the same location! So now my kitchen is complete. All that is left is to put the bunk bed together and it will be FINISHED! Then I will post pictures.

This is a short post but there will be more exciting things to report very soon!

First few days in the UAE

Hey there everyone! I wish I had a few photos to show off. I will soon! This week and next week are the "getting settled in" weeks. Next week I will be cleaning, furnishing, and decorating my apartment. I will post pics as soon as it’s done! Then I will begin my training! I also will be traveling to Germany November 2 for a women’s conference. I get to wear winter clothes! For those of you who are not aware of the UAE climate is hasn't been cooler than 98 degrees since I have been here. Last week it was over 110'! ( : YES, I have been wearing my sunscreen ( ;

I arrived to my final destination without a hitch. I had to run to the gate to catch the second leg of my flight from London to Dubai. I had an hour and a half layover (I don’t recommend.) and security was backed up. I then had to take a tram to my gate, two elevators, a few escalator...ran up to the attendant *huffin' and puffin'* and asked, "did I make it?!"..."Yes" and then I let out a loud declaration of excitement as I made my way to the terminal!


It really was that dramatic. ( ;
